Trent Alexander-Arnold to face ban for his celebration at the Etihad
Liverpool's star might face FA sanctions for "shushing" Manchester City fans on purpose.
Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s 80th-minute equalizer meant Liverpool left Manchester City with a point following an intriguing stalemate. Alexander Arnold scored with his right foot 53 minutes after Erling Haaland’s goal and went towards the home crowd in the Etihad Stadium, putting his finger over his lips and shushing them.
Unfortunately for him, the Football Association, or FA, has taken notice of his celebration for the wrong reasons. The FA is likely to sanction him after he admitted in the post-match interview that he performed the celebration on purpose.
He will be penalized because he purposefully attempted to agitate opposing supporters, which is a bookable offense, yet Chris Kavanaugh did not take action. Acting in a provocative, derisory, or offensive manner is prohibited by International Football Association Board Law 12.3.

Trent Alexander-Arnold found it amusing to watch all of the furious City supporters
Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was named Man of the Match for his performance, stepped in for a post-match interview. He stated that celebrating in front of the away supporters was enjoyable and that it was amusing to observe their expressions. He said, “It’s always good to celebrate in front of away fans. Seeing all of the faces is really funny.”
He discussed his goal, stating that Darwin Nunez helped him whereas it was Mohamed Salah. Alexander Arnold said he knew there were City players around him when he took the shot and was happy he scored.
Alexander-Arnold mentioned the challenge of playing against the Treble winners, noting that showing too much respect almost led to a loss. To secure a point, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance. After Kai Havertz’s 90th-minute goal for Arsenal, both Liverpool and Manchester City dropped in the Premier League
