Pep Guardiola and Darwin Nunez engage in verbal sparring

Darwin Nunez and Pep Guardiola's conversation intrigued fans.

On November 25th, Manchester City and Liverpool drew 2-2, with goals from Haaland and Alexander-Arnold. The clubs are tied on points, with City having 29 and Liverpool having 28. Following the game, City Manager Pep Guardiola and Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez clashed.

It all started when Nunez talked to Pep, resulting in a heated exchange of words. The scene deteriorated as both of them spat barbs until Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp intervened and restrained his Uruguayan attacker. Nunez soon left, leaving Pep alone with his German rival.

In the 26th minute, Haaland scored after Alisson’s bad ball was intercepted by Nathan Ake. While dribbling past a few Liverpool players, Ake took the ball ahead and delivered a ball to Haaland, who scored with ease despite a touch from Alisson.

With that goal, he became the Premier League’s fastest player to 50 Premier League goals, completing the mark in just 48 appearances. TAA equalized with a fantastic strike from the outside of the area in the 80th minute. Mohamed Salah saw him and rolled the ball to Alexander-Arnold, who took one touch and slotted it past Ederson.

Fans on the internet couldn’t contain their enthusiasm as Nunez and Guardiola began their verbal brawl. Many Liverpool supporters were pleased with the result, but one was disappointed that Nunez was unable to have a genuine fight. Meanwhile, City fans backed their boss, mocking Nunez’s performance.

With this result, City and Liverpool remain the top two teams in the Premier League table. They might fall to third and fourth if Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur win their games against Brentford and Aston Villa, respectively.
