Thousands of Real Madrid fans react to Jude Bellingham and Linda Caicedo winning Golden Boy and Golden Girl Awards 2023
Tuttosport awarded Real Madrid‘s Jude Bellingham and Linda Caicedo the 2023 Golden Boy and Golden Girl awards. These honors, chosen by 50 sports journalists, recognize the best male and female players under 21. The awards event will take place on December 4th in Turin.
This honor, founded by Dutch footballer Rafael Van Der Vaart, has a long history. Furthermore, Bellingham joins the ranks of Wayne Rooney and Raheem Sterling as Real Madrid’s first recipient. His outstanding performances for Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund earned him the Kopa Trophy at this year’s Ballon d’Or gala.
An 18-year-old Colombian player, Linda Caicedo is now shining in women’s football. She made 24 appearances for Los Blancos, including one at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, when she led Colombia to the quarterfinals and scored the tournament’s Goal of the Tournament.
Now that Real Madrid has astonishingly pulled off a complete sweep of the prizes with Bellingham and Caicedo, fans have not stopped reminding people that this is the ‘Golden Club’ and that this is ‘Madrid’s tradition. Without a doubt, Real Madrid players continue to outperform their opponents.
