“Bro double-handedly destroyed the game” – Incompetent Andre Onana has been a total disaster for Manchester United
Despite holding a two-goal advantage, blunders by Onana earned Galatasaray a draw.
Manchester United traveled to Turkey to face Galatasaray in a must-win game. They had gained three points in their previous four games, putting them in danger of being relegated to the Europa League or, worse, eliminated. The Red Devils started well, scoring two goals in the opening 19 minutes, and completed the half with a free kick allowed due to an error by Andre Onana.
The main issue emerged in the second half. Scott McTominay’s goal in the 55th minute made it 3-1, but another blunder by Onana lost them two points. In the 62nd minute, Hakim Ziyech, who had scored Galatasaray’s first goal, was awarded a free kick on the right wing.
The ball landed just in front of Andre Onana, who somehow failed to catch it after shooting with his left foot. The ball deflected off him and into the net, giving Galatasaray their second goal. With four points from five games, they are one point behind Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen, should they draw with Bayern Munich. Their next Champions League encounter will be at Old Trafford against group favorites Bayern Munich.
Andre Onana is blamed for United’s loss
With three goals surrendered against Galatasaray, United has now become the team with the most goals conceded, with 13 in five games. Throughout the campaign, they have only preserved one clean sheet, resulting in their win against Copenhagen.
Many supporters were enraged by Onana’s errors. Fans blamed the custodian for their dismal performance in the Champions League, claiming he single-handedly knocked them out. Many people wanted him to be dropped, while others wanted him to leave the club.
