“Life is good as an Arsenal fan rn” – Arsenal fans are ecstatic as the club qualifies for the UCL Round of 16

Arsenal progressed to the UCL RO16 after defeating Lens 6-0 at home.

For the first time in 22 years, Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League in 2017. They failed to finish in the top four for the next five seasons, missing out on Champions League football yet again. Finally, under Mikel Arteta, they finished second in the 2022/23 season, allowing them to return to Tuesday and Wednesday night games. They’re enjoying the best time of their life.

Arsenal scored six goals against RC Lens on November 29th, five of which came in the first half. All goals were scored by different players, with Kai Havertz scoring the first in the 13th minute.

Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli scored inside the following 14 minutes. Captain Martin Odegaard closed the half with a goal of his own. Only one goal was scored in the second half, with Jorginho scoring a penalty in the 86th minute. Arsenal has qualified for the Champions League Round of 16 for the first time since 2016. They have 12 points out of a possible 15, with one loss coming on the road at Lens.

Arsenal tops their UCL group and League table

Arsenal fans couldn’t contain their joy when the Gunners qualified for the Round of 16. Many were pleased with Mikel Arteta, who transformed them into a strong side and led them to the Round of 16 on his debut. Others were pleased that they were UCL group leaders as well as Premier League leaders.

Arsenal now leads the Premier League by one point after defeating Brentford. Following this UCL match, they will host Wolverhampton Wanderers. Their next UCL encounter will be on December 12th, when they travel to PSV in the Netherlands.
