Real Madrid Transfer News: 3 Real Madrid players to leave after the humiliating UCL exit
Real Madrid Transfer News: Mariano Diaz, Dani Ceballos, Nacho Fernandez, Marco Asensio, and Eden Hazard are among the players Real Madrid is reportedly contemplating trading this summer, as reported by El Nacional.
On Wednesday, May 17, Real Madrid was humiliatingly ousted from the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, prompting these claims. Los Blancos were defeated by Manchester City, 4-0, at the Etihad, and ultimately fell short, 5-1.
Carlo Ancelotti’s squad has struggled this season. Their chances of repeating as Champions League champions were dashed. Also, Barcelona won the La Liga championship.
In order to improve their depth off the bench, reports indicate that Real Madrid will make alterations to their present roster during the summer transfer window.
The first three players to go are Mariano Diaz, Dani Ceballos, and Nacho Fernandez, all of whom are free agents this summer. Their contracts will not be extended when the current season concludes.
At the conclusion of the season, Marco Asensio’s contract will also be up. MARCA reports that Real Madrid wants him to re-sign with a pay cut of €4 million per year. The Spain international has been a mainstay in the lineup this year, making 48 appearances while scoring 12 goals.

Eden Hazard is the only other starter who isn’t slated to go on. Los Blancos’ best-paid player, the former Chelsea hero, has only made 10 appearances this season while earning £416,000 per week. Next summer, Hazard’s contract will expire, and Real Madrid will likely do everything to get rid of him, seeing as how the deal hasn’t gone well for either side.

After being ousted from the UCL by Manchester City, Thibaut Courtois said that Real Madrid’s defence was no match for their tactics. After a dramatic 1-1 tie in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, both teams had a chance to advance.
If not for several spectacular stops by Courtois in the first half, the score may have been much higher. The Belgian goalkeeper stopped four shots, including three on goal. In addition, he made nine recoveries that kept the game close for his team until the Cityzens finally scored in the 23rd minute.
