Manchester United Transfer News: According to French media outlet RMC Sport, Manchester United has targeted Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Kouadio Manu Kone as a potential replacement for Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot this summer.
Since Rabiot’s contract is up at the conclusion of the season, his status with the Bianconeri is uncertain. The Red Devils are keeping an eye on the position of the midfielder, who has recorded eight goals and three assists in 29 Serie A appearances but may be available for free.
Manager Erik ten Hag reportedly views the acquisition of Rabiot as a top priority as he seeks to bolster his midfield at Manchester United. There have been rumours that the English powerhouses have already made contact with the 28-year-old.
Last summer, Manchester United were said to be interested in acquiring Adrien Rabiot from Juventus for a reported €17 million. However, according to reports, the France international rejected the transfer owing to salary demands.
Ahead of the summer, Ten Hag has reignited his passion for Rabiot. Meanwhile, the midfielder hasn’t made up his mind, and a source says Juventus is eager to extend his contract.
Manchester United do not want to put all of their eggs in one basket without assurances that Rabiot wants to transfer to Old Trafford. Therefore, Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach has become a potential alternative.
Since joining Monchengladbach from Toulouse for €9 million in 2021, 22-year-old Kone has been an integral part of the team’s success. For the German club, he made 59 total appearances (in all competitions), scoring four goals and dishing out two assists.
Given that Kone is under contract with Monchengladbach until 2025, the club is under no obligation to sell him. In March, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano predicted that the Frenchman would have a price tag of at least €50 million in the summer.

However, Frankfurt will still want a sizable payment for the Frenchman. Kolo Muani, who has also been linked with Bayern Munich, is under contract with them until 2027, so they are under no obligation to sell him. The German club is said to value him at €90 million.
