PSG Transfer News: PSG player wants to move to Atletico Madrid

PSG Transfer News: Keylor Navas, a former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper, has been unexpectedly connected with a move to Atletico Madrid this next summer.

Since the beginning of the current 2022-23 season, 36-year-old Navas has been unhappy with the Parisians. He only played two games for them this season, thus they sent him on a short-term loan to Nottingham Forest over the offseason.

The Costa Rican international, who has 110 caps and won three UEFA Champions Leagues with Real Madrid, has been Forest’s first choice in recent weeks. He has just one clean sheet in 16 games played for them.

Atletico Madrid has reportedly indicated an interest in signing Navas for the 2023-24 season, as reported by Todofichajes. It’s OK with PSG if their top player leaves on a free transfer this summer.

Navas, who is under contract with the Parc des Princes until June 2024, apparently wants to return to Real Madrid soon. His former Real Madrid home is still in his possession.

According to reports, Atletico and Navas have been in contact over the last several weeks about a possible summer transfer. Andrea Berta, the sports director for Los Rojiblancos, would want to sign the player as a backup custodian to Jan Oblak.

After joining Real Madrid for €10 million from Levante in 2014, Navas was instrumental in the club’s 12 La Liga title victories until leaving in 2019. In 162 games, he saw the Santiago Bernabeu team to 52 shutouts.

Todofichajes reports that Las Palmas of La Liga Segunda would want to capture striker Mariano Diaz from Real Madrid for free this summer. They are prepared to pay him close to €4 million annually.

In addition to Las Palmas, a number of other teams have shown interest in signing Diaz for the next 2023-24 season. Both Celta Vigo and Espanyol are interested, while Brazilian club Santos is also vying to sign him.

Diaz, 29, has been with the Real Madrid team since his summer 2018 transfer from Lyon for a reported €23 million. During his two stays with the club, he has amassed a total of 11 trophies.

Despite being available on a Bosman transfer, the Dominican Republic international may not be a good fit for Las Palmas. In 1,917 total minutes over the last five seasons, he has managed only seven goals.
