Center-backs and half-line screamers are a marriage made in heaven. The 29-year-old’s goal against Hull City in the EFL Championship went viral on social media, with his 40-yard shot clinching his team’s victory.
The goal occurred with the game tied at 1-1 in the 74th minute. Everyone, even Hull City custodian Ryan Allsop, was taken aback by his strike. His goal proved to be the winner as the home side was left with no response following his goal.
The defender was fast to intercept a Hull City player and struck the opponent goal without hesitation. Before hitting the back of the net, the ball missed everyone, including a retreating Allsop. The custodian showed his displeasure at Hull City players’ failure to close down the defender. Hoedt, on the other hand, was well on his way to addressing the away fans, who were ecstatic at the surprise strike.
