Roberto Firmino’s father passes away aged 62 on a family trip to Dubai

On Saturday night, Brazilian international and Al-Ahli captain Roberto Firmino received devastating news. José Roberto Cordeiro de Oliveira, the player’s 62-year-old father, died unexpectedly while visiting Dubai. According to reports, he died of a heart attack while on vacation with his family on Saturday. UOL, a Brazilian news site, published the terrible news, which was later confirmed by close friends and family.

Former Hoffenheim and Liverpool star Roberto Firmino moved to Saudi Arabia when his contract with the Reds expired. In his memoir, ‘Si Seor – My Liverpool Years,’ the athlete discusses his strong bond with his father.

He described his father as a boyhood idol and an inspiration to him. He was described as a great family man, nice, honest, and sincere. The football club CRB, where Firmino began his career, expressed their sympathies to his father.The footballer and his family are presently in contact with the Brazilian consulate in Dubai in order to return his father’s remains to Maceió, his hometown.
