Brighton vs Liverpool – Match Report

The eighth matchday of the Premier League witnessed its second draw of the day after Brighton finished off the game with a 2-2 scoreline against Liverpool. Both sides have shown almost equal gameplay throughout the match, though Liverpool won the possession battle. The table stands with Liverpool being third with 17 points acquired from their five wins and one draw. Whereas Brighton stands sixth with an equal number of wins but with two draws having 16 points beside their name.

The match witnessed some great play from the Liverpool star Mohammad Salah who scored both the goals for his side. One of them came through a penalty awarded to them in the injury time during the first half and the other just gave minutes before, in the 40th minute.

Brighton got the early lead when S Adingra scored a brace in the 20th minute for his side. Simon Adingra received the ball on the edge of the area and unleashed a rocket to open the scoring.

The equalizer for Liverpool came in the 40th minute when a pass from striker Darwin Nunez to Salah got into the back of the net. It didn’t take long for Liverpool to take the lead in the match when Luiz Diaz was fouled into the penalty box in the injury time of the first half. Salah smashed the penalty into the left corner and turned the game around for the Reds.

The second half witnessed the comeback of Brighton as they scored the equalizer to tie the game in the 72nd minute when a cross from Solly March to Lewis Dunk was converted into a goal. This equalizer brought back Brighton into the game and ended up finishing the match in a draw.

Both sides showed equal domination as 14 shots were taken by both sides. Only 3 shots were on target for Brighton while Liverpool had 4. A total of 32 fouls took place in the match with Liverpool committing 20 of them. Liverpool also got booked two times while Brighton faced one yellow card.

Brighton showed a good game at their home and will be looking to win their upcoming matches to escalate in the points table. A perfect showcase of a dynamic game between two strong sides marked an end with a draw.
