Pep Guardiola has his say on the Ballon D’or 2023
The FIFA Ballon D’or 2023 ceremony is all set to be held on 30th October in Paris. The event shall see the best player of the 2022/23 season being awarded the prestigious prize for his incredible performances for club and country throughout the season. The past season saw several players deliver performances from our of the world to draw a considerable amount of attention towards themselves. Pep Guardiola has his say as to which player stands the chance to win the award this time.
Pep Guardiola hails the achievements of Messi in particular
Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know the opinions that Guardiola has to give with regard to the players who are potential candidates to win the Ballon D’or this year. The Manchester City coach made it very clear that the two players who he thinks shall make it to the podium for sure are none other than Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi.
Pep said,“I always said that the Ballon d’Or had to be two sections. One for Messi and one for the others”.“Haaland should win yes or yes. We won the treble, he scored a million goals. I’d love Erling to win. But Messi… Leo won the World Cup!”. His words thus prove the fact that any of these players stand a chance to win the prize this year.

Messi was absolutely sensational for Argentina during the World Cup as he was his side’s talisman throughout the tournament scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists to achieve his dream of winning the World Cup eventually. He also won the World Cup golden ball. Besides this he also won the Ligue 1 title with PSG.
To talk about Haaland, the goal machine was in fine working order as he absolutely rattled the opposition teams throughout the season. He had a record breaking season with Manchester City as he scored goals for fun throughout the season across all competitions. The Norwegian striker won both the Premier League and UCL. He was the top scorer in the Premier League and also in the UCL as he helped his team lift the title for the first time ever in the history. It remains to be seen as to which of the two players wins the Ballon D’or eventually on 30th of October.
