Højlund responds to the comparisons with Haaland

Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund has given vent to his opinions on his being compared to Erling Haaland recently. The player who drew a considerable amount of attention towards himself during his time at Atalanta. The player made a move to Manchester United recently during the summer transfer window prior to the beginning of the 2023/24 season. The Danish player has been in fine form for his new club ever since having joined them. His performances in the UCL in particular were noteworthy.

Hojlund calls Haaland the best striker in the world

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know as to what Hojlund had to say about his comparisons with Erling Haaland. Manchester City’s star player Erling Haaland has been the best striker in England ever since his arrival at the club in 2022. Hojlund too admitted the sheer brilliance of the Norwegian striker and said that he certainly is one of his kind.

Hojlund said,“Haaland? Better not to be compared, he’s in a class of his own”.“I hope one day I can reach his level, but right now I think it’s too early. Erling is the world’s best striker, if not the world’s best footballer!”. Højlund’s admiration for Haaland is pretty much evident from his words.

The 20 year old however himself too has been an absolute sensation for Manchester United in his small tenure at the club so far. He scored his first goal for the club in the UCL against Bayern in a 4-3 loss away from home. He followed it up with a fantastic brace against Galatasaray yet again in a 3-2 loss at Old Trafford. With 3 games in 8 matches for the Red Devils so far, the youngster has been a major part of the team’s gameplan. It remains to be seen as to whether the player continues his fantastic performances and helps the team to achieve its objectives in the remainder of the season.
