Salzburg player Leon Lalic has signed for Manchester City group via this summer’s transfer window. The negotiations with respect to the player’s move were taking place over the past few days. The player who had been a part of Salzburg over the past 4 years at several youth levels has now parted ways with the club to join the Manchester City group as per the expectations. The player’s move has been almost completed as per the confirmations of several sources.
Leon Lalic becomes Salzburg’s first ever deal to Manchester City group
Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Leon Lalic’s move to Man City group has almost been completed. Manchester City group’s scout David Fernandez had been tracking the progress of the teenager over the past couple of years. The player recently impressed everyone with his brilliance in the Under-17 European championship games.
Leon Lalic’s initial stint following his signing for Manchester City group will see him play for the Belgian second division club – Lommel SK. Amongst several clubs from Europe who were seemingly interested to sign the youngster, Manchester City group emerged as the frontrunners in the end as they have nearly completed Lalic’s transfer now.

Leon Lalic who was born in 2006 had joined Salzburg’s youth team in the 2019/20 season at the age of 13. He made regular progress which saw him reach higher levels with the passage of time. He made it to the team’s U15,U16 and U18 side in the 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons respectively.
Following his move to the Man City group, the chances for Lalic’ are extremely bright to take giants leaps in his career hereon. The 17 year old Croatian might well love to follow the footsteps of someone like Phil Foden who made his way from the Manchester City’s youth side to the first team under Pep Guardiola. It would be interesting to see as to how well the youngster managed to fit into the new system around him hereon.
