Djordje Petrović to join Premier League club following New England exit

New England Revolution player Djordje Petrovićn is closing in on a move to the Premier League via this summer’s transfer window. The negotiations with respect to the player’s move were taking place over the past few days. The goalkeeper who had joined New England a couple seasons ago, is now all set to part ways with the club in order to join none other than Pochettino’s Chelsea. The player’s move to his new club has almost been completed as per the confirmations of several sources.

Djordje Petrović to join Chelsea on the permanent deal

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Djordje Petrović’s move to Chelsea has almost been completed. The player shall be joining the English club on a 7 year contract with an option of one more year until 2031. $17.5m fixed fee plus $2.2m add-ons to New England Revolution.

Djordje Petrović who was born in 1999  was initially a part of the FK Čukarički academy. He went on to make his debut with a club named FK IMT’s first team in 2019 at the age of 20. He made a move to New England revolution in the year 2022 on a three year deal. The player is now all set to begin a fresh journey with Chelsea in the Premier League hereon.

Chelsea have been in terrible form in the recent past. The side finished 12th in the league last season to everyone’s surprise. With just 44 points in 38 matches, the team missed out on a chance to cement their place in any of the European competitions for the upcoming season.

The team is yet to win a game this season after having a draw and a loss from their first two league games so farm. The major motto for the blues now will be to perform better in the league and get back to the top 4 by the end of the season. The onus will be on the team’s new signings including Djordje Petrović to help the side achieve its objectives hereon.
