It has been reported that a serious transfer for Barcelona’s Franck Kessie is being considered by Tottenham Hotspur. According to the Catalan publication SPORT, Kessie has garnered significant attention from a number of teams.

An article claims that Tottenham is “extremely interested” in acquiring Kessie and that there are “serious alternatives” for the move to go through. It has been speculated that Barcelona might be willing to part ways with Kessie in order to use the resulting funds to improve the squad in other areas.

Kessie’s name is often mentioned in connection with Tottenham, and it seems that these rumours will continue this summer as well. Tuttomercatoweb reported in January that Tottenham had made contact to attempt to acquire Kessie, while 90Min claimed that Tottenham had investigated a deal to sign Kessie in December.

The January transfer window came and went with the midfielder still refusing to leave Barcelona. Kessie seems dedicated to making a name for himself at Barcelona, but a summer transfer now seems more plausible.

When Kessie became available for free from AC Milan, Barcelona jumped at the chance to sign him. Last year, Kessie was a key contributor to Milan’s Serie A championship run, and this year, he was signed by Barcelona.

While Kessie has played four La Liga games this season, he is obviously not among Xavi’s preferred starting 11 for Barcelona. It’s easy to see why Kessie has Spurs interested, and why Barcelona would be inclined to sell him.

When Antonio Cassano called the Ivorian a “devastating” midfielder, the player has every reason to desire to show his worth to Barcelona. Kessie may be better suited at Tottenham if he is merely going to sit on the bench there.

Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici may have faith in Conte because of their familiarity with him from Italian football. If a trade can be made, Kessie would be a great addition to the Spurs midfield as a strong box-to-box midfielder with goal-scoring potential.
