Girona is closing in to sign Artem Dovbyk from Dnipro
Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk is very close to agreeing on a deal to move to Spanish club Girona. Reports claim that Girona is on the verge of completing the deal to sign Dovbyk this summer. According to reports the deal is to pay about 7 million euros to Dnipro-1 and Midtjylland.
The Danish club will receive 50% of the transfer. The La Liga side will be paying the amount since Midtyuland has more than 50% of the rights to the player. Girona is actively interested in the player of the Ukrainian national team and expects him to be the potential replacement for Tati Castellanos. They have signed several solid options this summer which includes veteran defender Daley Blind and Barcelona youngster Pablo Torre.
Ukrainian Forward to start his La Liga career
The best scorer of last season in the championship of Ukraine will now continue his career in the Spanish leagues. Though the fees are not yet finalized, reports claim that the deal remains at signing the Ukrainian star for 7 million euros.

Earlier it was reported that Dnipro-1 and Girona are waiting for a response from UEFA for the transfer of Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbik. Dovbyk netted 32 goals in 48 matches in all competitions last season and would be a very shrewd signing for the Spanish side. Girona has been impressive in the transfer business this season and is looking to continue.
The 26-year-old kickstarted his career with Dnipro in the year 2015. He made 37 appearances in the Ukrainian Championships and scored 18 goals. FC Zaria Bălți then signed the Ukrainian forward on loan and featured him in three matches. A Danish club Midtjylland then picked him in their squad wherein the player represented them in 18 matches and scored only once.
In the 22 appearances for Midtylland, Dovbyk has scored only once. He then featured in the Sønderjyske side to play as a loan player in the 2019-20 season. He made 21 appearances for this side and scored twice. Though, the years from 2020 brought glory to his career. He has his career-best records for Dnipro-1 wherein he featured in 84 matches and also scored 53 points. For the national side, he made 14 appearances to date and has 6 international goals.
