Atletico Madrid vs Feyenoord – Match Report
The UEFA Champions League witnessed its Group E league match between Atletico Madrid and Feyenoord. The match concluded with Atletico Madrid on the winning side with a 3-2 scoreline. However, the Dutch side didn’t take long to make a counterstrike to take back the lead. In the 34th minute, David Hancko struck from a rebound to find the back of the net.
However, Atletico recovered with a close-range strike by Antoine Griezmann during the first-half injury time. Soon after the start of the second half Morata scored his second goal of the match to take the lead for the first time in the match.
Feyenoord created more chances in the match but failed to convert the chances. A total of 15 corners were awarded to the Dutch side. Atletico conceded 8 fouls throughout the match and also faced four bookies.
Oblak was brilliant throughout the game and earned three important points obstructing the chances for Feyenoord. Atletico Madrid stays at the top of the group table with one win in two matches and drawing the other match. Feyenoord are placed second in the points table with winning one match and losing the second.
Lazio, who are third by one point, face Celtic, who have no points, later on Wednesday. Atlético and Feyenoord also have one match left in the group stage and will be looking for a win to increase their chances of qualifying further in the league.
