Ferran Torres’ kind gesture towards his teammate Gavi

With his emotional act on Sunday, FC Barcelona striker Ferran Torres captivated the hearts of football fans. The Spanish International dedicated his goal to injured teammate Gavi, with whom he also shares the FC Barcelona dressing room. Torres won hearts as he hoisted Gavi’s shirt to the fans after scoring in Spain’s Euro Qualifier against Georgia.
Gavi and Ferran Torres are teammates at both FC Barcelona and Spain. Since the start of last season, the Spain #11 and Gavi have been colleagues at the club. Under Xavi Hernandez, Gavi has been a frequent starter, whereas Ferran has been a rotational player. Gavi suffered a bad injury against Georgia in the 26th minute of yesterday’s game.
Ferran Torres scored with a flying header in the second half. He then celebrated with Gavi’s jersey, raising the #9 garment towards the camera and the fans. Spain won the game 3-1.
