Folarin Balogun makes a move to Ligue 1 club following Arsenal exit
Arsenal player Folarin Balogun has made a move to the Ligue 1 via this season’s transfer window. The negotiations with respect to the players move were taking place over the past few days. The player who had been a part of Arsenal since 2019 is now all set to part with the club so as to join AS Monaco. The player’s move to his new club in France has almost being completed as per the confirmations of several sources.
Folarin Balogun joins AS Monaco on a permanent deal
Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Folarin Balogun’s move to Monaco has almost been completed. An agreement has been reached with Arsenal by the French club on a €40m package we with the add-ons included. Arsenal will also retain significant sell-on clause for the future. The player’s medicals are being scheduled expectedly on this weekend.
Folarin Balogun who was born in 2001 began his senior career with Premier league club – Arsenal in 2019 at the age of 18. He had been an integral part of the club at the youth levels too initially. He got to make his senior debut for the club in the year 2020. He spent the 2021/22 season on loan with championship side – Middlesbrough. The following season saw him spent another season on loan at Reims in Ligue 1.
Monaco have been in fairly good form lately. The side finsihed sixth in the league last season. With 65 points in 38 matches throughout the season, the team narrowly missed a spot in any of the European competitions for the upcoming season.
The team’s major motto will be to perform even better in the ongoing league season and thereby cement their place in group stages of the Europa or the champions league next season. The onus will be on the team’s new signings including young Folarin Balogun to help the side achieve its objectives hereon.
