Joao Moutinho makes a move to SC Braga following his departure from the Premier League
Wolves player Joao Moutinho has made a move SC Braga via this summer’s transfer window. The negotiations with respect to the player’s move were taking place over the past few days. The player who had joined Wolverhampton around 5 years ago is now all set to part ways with the club so as to join SC Braga. The player’s move to his new club has almost been completed as per the confirmations of several sources.
Joao Moutinho joins SC Braga on a permanent deal
Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Joao Moutinho’s move to his new club – SC Braga has almost been completed. The Portuguese has signed for the club for a £400k salary per one year. The deal shall be valid until June 2024. The Moutinho deal has been sealed in the last hours as mentioned by Fabrizio.
Joao Moutinho who was born in 1986 began his senior career in the 2004/05 season with Sporting Portugal. He made a total of 259 appearances for the club and scored 32 goals before leaving the club for Porto in the year 2010. After three years and 140 matches for Porto, Moutinho made a move to Ligue 1 club Monaco.
He stayed at the club for the upcoming five years during which he played 219 games for the side scoring 11 goals. It was in the 2018/19 season, that the Portuguese joined Premier league club – Wolverhampton. The central midfielder was a major part of the side for the past five years as he made a total of over 200 appearances for the club.
SC Braga have been in fairly good form lately. The side finished third in the league last season. With 78 points in 34 games throughout the season, the team cemented it’s place in the upcoming season’s UEFA champions league qualifiers.
The team’s major motto will be to perform equally well in the ongoing league season too and also deliver impactful performances in the Champions league. The onus will be on the team’s new signings including Joao Moutinho to help the side achieve its objectives hereon.
