West Ham United is strongly interested to sign the Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire
A ‘serious approach’ for Harry Maguire has been made by West Ham United, according to Alan Nixon’s Patreon. The England international is now highly unpopular at Manchester United, and the Hammers would want to add him to their defence at the London Stadium.
West Ham’s defence has been porous so far this year, so they’re hoping to shore it up by adding Maguire. The Hammers have received an answer on this front, and it’s not good news for David Moyes’ squad. Manchester United has rejected West Ham’s bids in an attempt to retain the centre-back for the balance of the current season.
Maguire is content to bide his time for an opportunity at Old Trafford, even if he realizes he will have to do so for the foreseeable future. The future of the “great” defender is uncertain at the moment, although he has shown openness to reevaluating his situation in the summer.
Even if Erik Ten Hag does not like Maguire, he still has a lot to give in the Premier League, as he demonstrated with his strong play for England at the World Cup in the winter. It remains to be seen whether West Ham will come back to this topic at the conclusion of the season, but presumably, any transfer in the summer would depend on the London club’s ability to avoid Premier League relegation this year.
David Moyes’ team is, without a doubt, in a relegation fight, and if they finish up in the Championship next season, they can forget about signing Maguire at the end of the year.
