Toni Kroos Transfer News: Toni Kroos is allegedly close to signing a short-term contract with Real Madrid
Toni Kroos Transfer News: Toni Kroos will reportedly sign a new contract with Real Madrid shortly, according to the Spanish news agency MARCA. The experienced playmaker has denied rumours that he plans to retire shortly. Additionally, he will enter into a brief deal that will last through June 30 of 2024.
Toni Kroos has been one of the world’s top midfielders for the last decade since he signed with Real Madrid. Both of the 33-year-old’s previous stops, with Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, had been quite successful. And before joining Real Madrid, he had already helped Germany win the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Since then, the German playmaker has gone from strength to strength, leaving a lasting legacy at Real Madrid. Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro formed a legendary relationship in the middle of the field. Real Madrid’s midfield was so dominant that even the club’s most skilled players had trouble making an impact.
Kroos is well into his forties at this point. The player, though, has been outstanding in the centre of the field this season. Real Madrid is in a jam since their senior playmaker is in the last year of his contract.
In the summer, the contracts of more than a half-dozen Real Madrid players will expire. Here are some of them: Nacho, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos, Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema, and Mariano Diaz. The other players’ situations are more precarious than those of Modric, Benzema, and Asensio, who are all close to signing new contracts.

However, Kroos is about to leave the latter group as he signs a short-term contract. The German midfielder has agreed to a contract deal that will keep him with the team until 2024. While that is happening, Real Madrid will keep looking for a suitable replacement.
There have been rumours connecting Samuele Ricci to Los Blancos recently. Real Madrid is reportedly interested in acquiring several additional midfielders this summer. However, Kroos is now on the verge of signing a one-year extension to remain at Real Madrid.
