Thomas Muller unpacks a special gift from the Indian Cricket Team
Adidas sponsors both Indian Cricket Team and Bayern Munich.
The Indian Cricket Team sent Thomas Muller a unique care package, which he revealed in a brief film on ‘X’. It was a little box containing an Indian Cricket Team jersey with Muller’s name and Bayern Munich’s uniform number, No.25, on the back. Before donning the shirt, the German thanked the Indian team for the gift and wished them success in the World Cup.
This is not Muller’s first encounter with an Indian Cricket Team shirt; in 2019, the Bavarian showed his love for India by posting a selfie of himself wearing an Indian jersey and holding a cricket bat with the caption.
In 2009 and 2011, Thomas Muller visited India twice. He played for Bayern Munich II against East Bengal and Mayor’s XI for the first time, winning both matches handily. Muller returned to the senior team of Bayern Munich in 2011 to participate in Bhaichang Bhutia’s testimonial game, which he won 4-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.
