Ronaldinho wants Kylian Mbappe to win the Ballon d’Or at PSG
Ronaldinho also stated that Mbappe is capable of winning the Ballon d'Or with any club.
Kylian Mbappe appears to be on course to dethrone Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the “next big thing.” Even if Erling Haaland cannot be fully disregarded, ex-Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldinho Gacho has chimed in on the PSG star’s future. Mbappe, according to the Brazilian, is a ‘fantastic’ player.
Ronaldinho also claimed that he and the French superstar are “friends.” In addition, he stated that a player of his caliber can win the Ballon d’Or with any team. Ronaldinho, on the other hand, cited his time at PSG and added: “A great player like him can have the chance to win the Ballon d’Or for any team. But as I love PSG, I want him to do it with PSG.”
Despite his remarkable abilities and goal-scoring, Kylian Mbappe finished third on the Ballon d’Or podium in 2023, after Lionel Messi (winner) and Erling Haaland (runner-up). Many people believe he will win soon, especially because Messi and Ronaldo are reaching the conclusion of their careers. However, his exploits such as a hat-trick in the World Cup final, being PSG’s top scorer, and winning Ligue 1 did not secure him the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
Kylian Mbappe leads 10-man PSG to victory
PSG is rolling under Luis Enrique, having won their seventh consecutive Ligue 1 match. On December 3rd, the French giants defeated Le Havre thanks to Kylian Mbappe and Vitinha covering for an early Gianluigi Donnarumma red card. After 14 games, the Parisians had 33 points, placing them ahead of second-placed Nice. Nice suffered their first loss of the season, allowing PSG to take a four-point lead at the top.
PSG was in danger early on when Donnarumma was sent off for a high challenge on Josué Casimir. PSG were saved by captain Kylian Mbappe, who once again showed why Real Madrid wants his contract. Arthur Desmas had no chance after his spectacular strike from the outside of the area. Ousmane Dembele then struck the post, but Arnau Tenas made three key saves to keep PSG in the game.
PSG triumphed 2-0 on the night thanks to Vitinha’s incredible long-range shot in the 89th minute. Mbappe currently has 15 goals in Ligue 1, more than double the (7) goals scored by Montpellier’s second-placed Akor Adams. As a result, the following games against Nantes and LOSC Lille will determine who takes the lead ahead of the 20-game milestone this season.
