Ollie Watkins signs new deal with Premier league club

English professional footballer Ollie Watkins has signed a new deal with his club – Aston Villa recently. The negotiations with respect to the player’s new deal were taking place over the past few days. The player who had joined Aston Villa around 3 years ago back in 2020 is now all set to lengthen his period of time at the club even further. The player’s new deal with the club has almost been completed as per the confirmations of several sources.

Ollie Watkins to extend his stay at Aston Villa

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Ollie Watkins’ new deal with Aston Villa has been completed. Watkins has signed a new long term deal at the club that will be valid until the year 2028. The deal includes an improved fixed salary structure and also also add ons season by season.

Ollie Watkins who was born in 1995 began his senior career with Exeter City in League Two in the year 2013 at the age of 18. He spent four years at the club during which he played 78 matches in all scoring 26 goals. He joined championship side Brentford thereon in 2017. He played 143 matches for the team in three years scoring 49 goals before leaving for Aston Villa in 2020. The forward has played 127 matches for the Premier League club so far across all competitions scoring 50 goals.

Aston Villa have been in fairly good rhythm lately.  The side finished 7th in the league last season ahead of top teams like Tottenham and Chelsea. With 61 points in 38 matches including 18 wins, the side managed to cement its spot in the upcoming season’s Europa Conference league. The team has already succumbed to a 5-1 defeat against Newcastle in their first league match of the season.

The major motto for the club here on will be to make significant improvements in the results in the league and also make a mark in the conference league. The onus will be on the team’s current stars including Ollie Watkins to help the side achieve its objectives in the upcoming times.
