Julian Draxler makes a move to Qatari club following PSG exit
PSG player Julian Draxler has made a move to the Qatari league via this summer’s transfer window. The negotiations with respect to the player’s transfer were taking place over the past few days. The player who has joined PSG around seven years ago is now all set to part ways with the club so as to join Al Ahli SC. The player’s move to his new club has almost been completed as per the confirmations of several sources.
Julian Draxler joins Al Ahli SC on a permanent deal
Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Julian Draxler’s move to Al Ahli has almost been completed. The player shall be joining the Qatari club on a two year contract. Al Ahli shall be signing the German international on a reported fee of around €20m.
Julian Draxler who was born in 1993 began his senior career with Schalke in the year 2010 at the age of 17. He made 170 appearances for the club until 2015 before leaving for Wolfsburg. After having played 45 games for the team in two seasons, he joined PSG in the 2016/17 season.
The midfielder spent six long years at the club playing 198 games for the club in which he scored 26 goals and provided 41 assists. He spent his last season on loan at Benfica wherein he scored twice in 18 matches.
Al Ahli SC have been in rather average form lately. The team finished 8th in the league last season. With just 24 points in 22 matches the team failed to cement its place in the upcoming season’s AFC champions league. The team’s next major motto will be to perform better in the ongoing league season. The onus will be on the team’s new signings including Julian Draxler to help the side achieve its objectives hereon.
