Harry Kane Transfer News: Manchester United make their intentions clear about Harry Kane

Harry Kane Transfer News: According to reports, Manchester United has begun scouting Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in preparation for a possible summer deal.

Kane has been extensively linked to the Red Devils in recent weeks. United want to improve their forward depth this summer. Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial have been injured often, and Ronaldo departed the club in November of last year. Although they loaned in Wout Weghorst from Burnley in January, they anticipate that he will return to the Clarets in the summer.

While at Tottenham, Kane has 18 months left on his contract. According to The Telegraph, he is unlikely to extend his contract with the team. Daniel Levy, the chairman of the club, must thus decide whether to sell Harry Kane this summer or let him go for free next year.

Levy is expected to want £80 million from international teams and £100 million from domestic ones in order to part with the England captain. United are attempting to read Kane’s intentions and figure how how to approach the Spurs board.

The Englishman reportedly wants to remain in England to continue his pursuit of Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record. The Spurs striker sits third all-time in Premier League scoring behind 260-goal leader Alan Shearer and 207-goal scorer Wayne Rooney. He trails Wayne Rooney on the all-time scoring list by one goal.

Despite his impressive resume, Kane has never taken home a trophy. Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag has led Manchester United to the FA Cup final after the club won the Carabao Cup earlier in the season.

The Red Devils would like not to have transfer discussions stretch on for the whole transfer window, therefore they are keen to learn as much as can about a prospective Kane deal as soon as possible. They want to get Napoli striker Victor Osimhen early in the transfer season if a deal for the England international falls through.
