Gianluca Scamacca on the verge of joining Atalanta following Premier League exit

West Ham United’s Gianluca Scamacca is closing in on a move to Atalanta BC via this summer’s transfer window. The negotiations regarding the player’s move were taking place over the last few days. Despite their being interests from other clubs too for the player, it’s Atalanta who’ve ended as frontrunners in signing the West Ham striker. Scamacca who had initially agreed on a move Inter milian is now set to make a move to Atalanta instead.

Gianluca Scamacca to play for Atalanta next season onwards

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Gianluca Scamacca’s move to Atalanta is almost a done deal. The documents of the deal are being prepared as of now. The fixed fee is of £25m besides easy add ons worth £5m. 10% sell on clause is also included. The medical tests have been booked in Italy as the player will be traveling there later today.

As per several sources, both Inter Milan and Atalanta had made a similar bid for Scamacca initially worth £30m in total. However the English club found Atalanta’s proposal more favourable one due to the add ons that we’re easier to achieve. West ham shall be paid £25m initially by Atalanta while the remaining £5m would be spread over Scamacca’s contract.

To talk about Scamacca’s career so far, the 1999 born began his senior career with Jong PSV in the year 2016 aged 17. He joined Serie A club Sassuolo in 2017/18 season. Thereon he was loaned out to several clubs every following season. He spent the 2017/18 season’s remainder at Cremonese, 2018/19 at PEC Zwolle, 2019/20 at Ascoli and 2020/21 at Genoa, all as a loan player. Just after one season of his return to Sassuolo, he left for West Ham in 2022/23 season. He was a part of the side that won the UEFA Conference league last season.

Atalanta recently have been in fairly good form as a team. The side finished fifth in the league last season after having accumulated 64 points in 38 matches. The team shall be featuring in the upcoming season’s Europa League. The major motto for them will be to achieve better results in the league and certainly do well in the Europa League too. The onus will be on the club’s new signings including their striker, Scamacca to help the side achieve its objectives hereon.
