Gabri Veiga has his say on his move to Saudi
Spanish youngster – Gabri Veiga has had his opinions with regard to his joining Saudi Arabian football recently. The player who joined Al Ahli during the recent transfer window prior to the beginning of the current 2023/24 season had to face a lot of criticism for having made this decision at only 21 years of age. The player however came up with an explanation in order to explain his decision and the fact that he is contended with everything that he has at the moment.
Veiga expresses his admiration for Saudi Arabian football
Gabri Veiga who joined Saudi Club – Al Ahli on a permanent deal said that his decision wasn’t solely based on money. His move was determined by his urge to keep developing right from a very young age. The entire system at the Saudi club would facilitate his growth as a player in his opinion.
He said,”I did not join Saudi just for money. It was the best option to develop as a player, grow under a young coach, team full of stars and league improving as Saudi PL”.”I’m 100% proud of my choice”, Veiga added.
Gabriel Veiga who was born in 2002 was a youth graduate of the Spanish club – Celta Vigo. He made his senior debut for the club in the year 2019 at the age of 17. He has scored 21 goals in 120 matches for the club so far during his four stay with the side. The youngster is yet to represent his country at the senior level. He was a part of the Spain’s youth side which finished as runners up in the UEFA European Under-21 championship in 2023.
The player has been in fairly good form for his new club so far. The player has played 6 matches across all competitions for Al Ahli until now. He is yet to score for the team and has registered one assist. It remains to be seen as to whether the young Spaniard is able to rise to greater heights in Saudi Arabia in the times to come.
