Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel signs new deal with the club
Swiss professional footballer Gregor Kobel has signed a new deal with his club – Borussia Dortmund lately. The negotiations with respect to the player’s new deal with respect to the player’s move were taking place over the past few days. The player who joined Dortmund around a couple of years ago is now all set to lengthen his period of stay at the club even further. The player’s new deal with the club has almost been completed as per the confirmations of several sources.
Gregor Kobel extends his stay at Dortmund
Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Gregor Kobel’s new deal with Dortmund has been completed. The shotstopper shall be staying at the club even further as his new deal shall be valid until the year 2028. The first choice goalkeeper has been an integral part of the side lately.
Gregor Kobel who was born in 1997 began his senior career with Hoffenheim in 2015 at the age of 18. After having short spells at Augsburg in 2018 and at Stuttgart in 2019 and 2020, Kobel made a move to Borussia Dortmund in 2021. He has been a major part of the team in between the sticks over the past few years ever since having joined them. The Swiss has played 76 matches so far for the club across all competitions.
Kobel made his international debut for Switzerland in 2021. He has represented his country at the senior in just 5 matches till date.
Dortmund who missed a chance to lay their hands over the Bundesliga title in 2022/23 season by a whisker will be hoping to start things right from the beginning once again. The club has let go off several star players of its over the past few years. Jude Bellingham who was one of the brightest young stars in the club made move to Real Madrid this season. It will interesting to see as to how the club uses its new set of signings and if Gregor Kobel is able to continue his good work for the German club.
