Chelsea Transfer News: Chelsea will have to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for free to Barcelona

Chelsea Transfer News: At the beginning of the season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transferred to Chelsea. The three goals he has scored this season in all competitions are not impressive, however. According to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea is reportedly willing to sell the player over the next offseason. He may be eligible for a free transfer, but they may be compelled to let him go.

There have been rumours about the veteran striker perhaps returning to Barcelona. However, the Catalan behemoths are not likely to pay a fee to acquire him. It seems like Chelsea will have to cut their losses on the player this summer, after spending £12 million to get him. Next season, Aubameyang will be looking to get his career back on track by playing regularly for Barcelona.

The former Arsenal striker was relegated to the bench following a lacklustre debut for Chelsea. He wasn’t even included in the team that played in the Champions League. As a result, Chelsea has to find a way to take his enormous salary off the books.

The Blues’ offence has stalled this year, but Aubameyang was supposed to score goals for fun after showing well for Arsenal. During his tenure with the North London club, the Gabonese striker established himself as one of the league’s top scorers. It would be best for everyone involved to relocate this summer.

Chelsea has been linked with players like Victor Osimhen in recent weeks as they look to bolster their attack at the conclusion of the season. Napoli’s attacker has been in great shape recently, and he may wind up being a significant improvement over Aubameyang.

The Blues would have loved to get back at least some of the £12 million they spent on the 33-year-old, who is under contract at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2024. But none of his suitors, including Barcelona, have shown they are willing to overpay for him this summer.

He is definitely not the same player he once was, and his performance is declining. This summer, teams will scour the market for a cheap way to sign him.
