Borussia Dortmund wants to sign the 18-year-old Real Madrid player
Defensa Central, a Spanish news organization, claims that Borussia Dortmund is interested in signing Nico Paz. The Bundesliga heavyweights want to capitalize on Real Madrid’s pursuit of Jude Bellingham by stealing the Los Blancos’ midfield star from the Spanish club.
Nico Paz, or Nicolas Paz Martinez, is the newest promising player to come out of Real Madrid’s youth program. This young player, now 18 years old, began his professional career with San Juan before moving on to Deportivo Tenerife. Since joining Real Madrid more than six years ago, though, he has made consistent strides forward.
A year ago, the young star made the cut at Real Madrid Castilla after working his way up through the ranks at La Fabrica. And Nico Paz has improved greatly over the last 12 months. Carlo Ancelotti, in particular, is a fan and wants to play him in Real Madrid’s first squad next season. However, Borussia Dortmund will want to prevent it from occurring.
In the next summer transfer window, Borussia Dortmund will want to bolster their midfield. That’s because it seems probable that Jude Bellingham will leave Signal Iduna Park at the conclusion of the current campaign. It just so happens that Real Madrid is interested in signing the English international.
Even more recently, it has been reported that Real Madrid would try to finalize a summer transfer this very month. For Dortmund, another talented midfielder is need to take Bellingham’s spot in the Bundesliga powerhouse. Furthermore, Nico Paz has become an attractive option for the German club.
Without Bellingham, the Borussia Dortmund midfield is severely depleted. He has scored five times in five UEFA Youth League games, so he may be able to step in and help. However, the Bundesliga heavyweights have competition for the 18-year-old.
Nico Paz has drawn interest from many La Liga teams, including Real Valladolid and Getafe. Valladolid is reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid youngster Sergio Arribas. It will be exciting to see the competition to sign Arribas’s Real Madrid Castilla colleague. Ancelotti, though, is expected to do all it takes to keep the player on board beyond the summer.
