The 20-year-old gained widespread attention when he scored all four goals in his team’s 5-4 defeat to Lyon in Ligue 1 on May 7. After 30 games in the league this year, he has 17 goals and 5 assists.
Wahi’s efforts have not been overlooked. Foot Mercato (via Get France Football News) reports that Arsenal, Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, and RB Leipzig are all considering making a move to sign him.
With Wissam Ben Yedder’s (32), captain’s contract expiring in June 2024, AS Monaco reportedly has their sights set on the 20-year-old. If Montpellier can keep their top striker for the next season is still up in the air.
Wahi is reportedly valued at €40 million, and his contract will end in the summer of 2026, as stated in the aforementioned article. As of right now, Arsenal’s No. 9 possibilities are Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, and Eddie Nketiah.
