Mario Balotelli reveals the worst manager he ever played for
According to Balotelli, this manager was only excellent during training sessions.
Mario Balotelli has appeared twice in the Premier League during his career. Manchester City paid EUR 21.8 million for him after he shone for Inter Milan in Serie A. He spent two and a half seasons with the club before leaving for AC Milan.
After two seasons, he returned to England to join Liverpool FC in 2014 but did not fare well. He scored four goals in 28 appearances. In addition, he had to play under the “disaster manager,” who was the worst he had ever played under.
The former Premier League player discussed his experience under Brendan Rogers with TVPlay, a Lithuanian TV program. Despite his training and tactical brilliance, he described himself as a “disaster” as a person.
Balotelli stated, “Brendan Rodgers is the worst coach I have ever had. He was number one as far as training sessions were concerned, what with keeping possession of the ball and the small-sided games. But as a person, he was a disaster. “

Rodgers spoke about the situation, ” He was probably absolutely spot on. I just couldn’t really connect with Mario. He was one that came in very late in the window. It was a gamble taken from a club perspective. It was one where, he’s a big talent, he’ll come in and develop, he’s got all the tools. In all fairness, I just found it very difficult to connect with Mario. “
He moved to Scotland to manage Celtic after being fired by the Merseyside team. He returns to the Premier League with Leicester City in 2019. He won the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield during his four years with the club, however, he departed in April 2023 when the club was relegated. He returned to Celtic in 2023 to replace the departing Ange Postecoglu. Balotelli departed Nice in 2019 and has transferred six times since then. He is presently a member of the Turkish team Adana Demirspor.
