José Maria Giménez signs new deal with Atletico Madri
Uruguayan international – José Maria Giménez has signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid recently. The negotiations with respect to the player’s new deal were taking place over the past few days. The player who had joined Atletico Madrid around 10 years ago back in the year 2013 has decided to lengthen his period of time at the club even further. The player’s new deal with the club has been completed as per the confirmations of several sources.

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that José Maria Giménez’s new deal with Atletico Madrid has been completed. The player has extended his contract with the club as his new deal shall be valid until the year 2028. The player decided to stay despite their being offers from several other Italian clubs.
José Maria Giménez who was born in 1995 began his senior career with Uruguayan club – Danubio in the year 2012 at the age of 17. He played 16 games for the club that season before making a move to La Liga club Atletico Madrid the next season. The player has been more or less an integral part of the team ever since having joined them. He has played a total of 285 matches for the club across all competitions so far.

Atletico Madrid have been in fairly good form lately. The side finished third in the league last season below Barcelona and Real Madrid. With 77 points in 38 games, the team managed to cement its spot in the group stages of upcoming season’s Champions league.
