Both current Spurs manager Antonio Conte and his predecessor, Mauricio Pochettino, are interested in taking over as the manager of Real Madrid
Reporter Miguel Delaney of The Independent’s Reading The Game newsletter claims that both current Spurs manager Antonio Conte and his predecessor, Mauricio Pochettino, are interested in taking over as the manager of Real Madrid.
It has been reported by Delaney that Conte, like former Chelsea and PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, has his sights set on taking over as manager at Real Madrid.
At the conclusion of the season, Spurs would want to employ Pochettino to replace Conte, but the Argentine manager would like to take his talents to what is often considered the best club in the world.
Spurs’ first season under the Argentine was a major success, as they advanced to the 2019 UEFA Champions League final. We don’t think Antonio Conte or Mauricio Pochettino will be hired as Real Madrid’s next manager.
While he is a top-tier coach, Conte has not had much success in the UEFA Champions League. As an added note, the Italian manager plays an extremely defensive style of football.
Pochettino is a brilliant manager, although he didn’t exactly succeed during his time at PSG. Is it possible that the Argentine and Madrid would win both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League?
Pochettino, on the other hand, is not an ‘elite’ manager. Florentino Perez, the current president of Real Madrid, is unlikely to fire Carlo Ancelotti in favour of Antonio Conte or Mauricio Pochettino.
If last year’s La Liga and UEFA Champions League champions Madrid fire Ancelotti after the season, they would be wise to replace him with Thomas Tuchel.
