Wilfried Gnonto Transfer News: Is he leaving Leeds United in the summer transfer window?

Wilfried Gnonto Transfer News: Fabrizio Romano writes in his exclusive CaughtOffside blog “The Daily Briefing” that despite Wilfried Gnonto’s lack of playing time, Leeds United still have him in their long-term plans.

The 19-year-old attacker made a great splash in his first season at Elland Road and undoubtedly has a bright future in the league, but he has unexpectedly fallen out of favour with the team’s new manager, Javi Gracia.

It remains to be seen whether Gnonto, who joined the team last summer and played an important part under former manager Jesse Marsch, can earn a regular spot in Gracia’s starting lineup again.

Although Romano acknowledges that Leeds’ managerial predicament may play a role in Gnonto’s future with the club, he is certain that the board of directors has trust in the Italian international.

Wilfried Gnonto Transfer News: What’s next for him?

The supporters of Leeds must know they have a major talent on their hands, and they must be praying that a solution can be found to prevent him from departing so soon after signing.

“I’m sure Leeds trust Wilfried Gnonto for the present and future, despite some recent speculation over his future. Of course the coach situation will be crucial to understand what’s next for Gnonto, but the club and the board 100% trust him,” Romano explained.

Gnonto, who moved to the Premier League in the summer from FC Zurich, has made an early impact with two goals and three assists in 16 games.

Gnonto’s disappointment at not getting regular playing time at Leeds has drawn interest from other high-profile teams due to his impressive performance.
