Tottenham’s promising prospect Jamie Donley, who has been playing for the Under-21 team, is close to signing a new contract that would keep him with the club until the summer of 2026
The Football London website’s Alasdair Gold said that Tottenham’s promising prospect Jamie Donley, who has been playing for the Under-21 team, is close to signing a new contract that would keep him with the club until the summer of 2026.
Donley has burst into the second team regularly this season after a breakout performance in the UEFA Youth League and scoring 24 goals and assisting on nine more in 39 games for Tottenham’s U18 side. His physique is quite impressive.
Gold has previously called Donley “extremely creative,” drawing comparisons to Harry Kane because of his versatility (he can play anywhere across the front three or even deeper in the centre of the field). His prior contract’s expiration date is unknown.
But, the Spurs are about to sign one of their most promising young players. They owe him a new contract until the summer of 2026, with the option to extend it for another year. He’s been working out with the big boys.
Spurs have made a brilliant move. Even though Antonio Conte isn’t known for giving young players a go, he’d be dumb not to give Donley a shot if and when the time comes. Donley might soon have more success.
As it seems like Conte will be replaced at the conclusion of the season, the next manager may be more interested in playing the team’s younger players. When it comes to identifying the Spurs’ next promising young player, Donley will undoubtedly be at the top of the list.
Spurs also have players such as Alfie Devine, Matt Craig, and Maksim Paskotsi. Dane Scarlett, Harvey White, and Troy Parrott are all on loan from Spurs, and they’re all talented enough to make an impression.
