Tottenham – Top 3 transfers of 2023/24 season
Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur has been in the top flight of English Football. The side finished eight out of twenty last season and thus has worked well in the transfer window this summer to build a strong side. The club is ranked No. 21 by UEFA with a club coefficient of 80.0 points as of June 2023. Spurs have won two league titles in domestic football over the years. Eight FA Cups, four League Cups, and seven FA Community Shields are also in their cabinet.
In European football, they have won one European Cup Winners’ Cup and two UEFA Cups. Tottenham were also runners-up in the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League. Tottenham Hotspur was the ninth-highest-earning football club in 2022 with an annual revenue of £442.8 million. The side has done well to prepare a balanced side this season. They had been very effective in bringing more talented players into their side to excel in the upcoming seasons. Here are the team’s top three signings of the 2023/24 season:
1) James Maddison – The English professional footballer signed for the Spurs this season after having a successful career with Leicester City in the last five seasons. The attacking midfielder signed a five-year contract with Tottenham with a transfer fee reported to be £40m. Maddison made his debut for Tottenham on 13 August during the first matchday of the 2023–24 Premier League season, starting in an away match against Brentford. He has already made four appearances for Tottenham this season and also scored two goals. He is one of the best signings for Tottenham this season.
2) Brennan Johnson – Wales International Brennan Johnson plays as a winger as well as a striker. The 22-year-old signed for Tottenham Hotspur on a six-year contract for a transfer fee of £47.5 million. Johnson started his career with Nottingham Forest playing five seasons for them, two in the Premier League. He got that experience of the Premier League which would be beneficial for the Spurs this season. He is yet to make his debut for Tottenham.
3) Pedro Porro – Spanish International defender Pedro Porro was bought by Tottenham on the deadline day of the transfer window this January on loan. He was bought by the side this summer as was announced. In 18 appearances for Spurs, the right-back has scored on three occasions and is believed to deliver well in the upcoming season as well. The 24-year-old has made only two appearances for his national side and is looking for more opportunities to contribute. He got a good span with his previous club Sporting CP making 67 appearances for them and scoring 9 times.
