Steven Alzate makes a move to Belgian club following Brighton exit

Brighton player Steven Alzate has made a move to the Belgian league via this summer’s transfer window. The negotiations with respect to the player’s move were taking place over the past few days. The player who had joined Brighton in 2017 is now all set to part ways with the club so as to join Standard Leige on loan. The player’s move to his new club has almost been completed as per the confirmations of several sources.

Steven Alzate joins Standard Leige on a loan deal

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Steven Alzate’s move to Standard Leige has almost been completed. The player shall be joining the Belgian club on a loan deal until June 2024. The player’s salary will be fully covered by the Belgian club as per Fabrizio’s confirmations.

Steven Alzate who was born in 1998 began his senior career with Leyton Orient in League Two in the 2016/17 season at the age of 18. He made a move to Premier League club – Brighton and Hove Albion the following season. He got to make his debut for the team in the 2019/20 season. The player has made just 51 appearances for the side till date scoring 3 goals in total.

Standard Leige has been rather average in terms of their performance in the recent past. The team finished 6th in the league last season. Following their achievement of 55 points in 34 games throughout the season the team finished third in the conference league playoff group.

The team is currently in a spot of bother after having drawn and lost three games each out of their first six games in the ongoing league season. The team’s major motto will be to perform well in the league hereon. The onus will be on the team’s new signings including Steven Alzate to help the side achieve its objectives in the times to come.
