Shocking Transfer Twist: Barcelona Starlet on Verge of Sensational Move to Bundesliga Powerhouse

The Battle for Talent: High-Stakes Pursuit Ensues as Bayer Leverkusen Sets Sights on Barcelona's Rising Attacking Sensation

French publication Foot Mercato claims that Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen has made Abde Ezzalzouli of Barcelona their top priority for the next summer transfer season.

After being purchased from Hercules CF for €2 million in 2021, Ezzalzouli quickly ascended through the ranks at Barcelona. After making his debut in a 1-1 La Liga tie against Alaves in October 2021, he went on to play 12 times for the club that season.

In order to give the winger additional playing time, the Blaugrana loaned him to CA Osasuna for the upcoming 2022-23 season. So far at Navarre, he has been remarkable. In 31 appearances in all competitions, he has scored six goals and assisted on two more.

Catalan newspaper SPORT reported in January that Xavi’s club plans to maintain 21-year-old Ezzalzouli in the lineup due to the player’s impressive play. The same tabloid said last month that the attacker had no interest in returning to Camp Nou if he did not have the manager’s faith.

Therefore, the future of the Morocco international with the La Liga winners is in question. In February, a Spanish media site, Relevo, reported that he had caught the attention of Premier League team Nottingham Forest. Some have speculated that Barcelona might get 40 million euros for the teenager if they were to sell him.

It has come to light that Ezzalzouli is a primary objective for Leverkusen in preparation for the 2023–24 season. Manager Xabi Alonso of the German club reportedly has his eye on the kid and would want to bring him to the Bundesliga.

Moussa Diaby, Amine Adli, Karim Bellarabi, and Callum Hudson-Odoi are four experienced wingers for Leverkusen. The contracts of both Bellarabi and Hudson-Odoi expire next month. Thus they will be leaving the club. Newcastle United and Arsenal are both reportedly interested in signing Diaby, while Adli has also been linked to a transfer.
