Romelu Lukaku reportedly set to join the Saudi Arabian club

According to the latest rumours, Romelu Lukaku is on his way to Saudi Arabia.

Romelu Lukaku appears to be on his way out of AS Roma after the season. According to Fabio Santini, a football writer, the striker has agreed to a “millionaire proposal from Saudi Arabia.” Lukaku has had a turbulent time at Roma, but he has finally found his feet in recent weeks. In 18 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s team, the striker scored 11 goals.

Romelu Lukaku is now doing his trade in Serie A with AS Roma. Chelsea loaned away the Belgian after he fell out of favor at the club last season. However, after a difficult summer and arrival at Roma, the 30-year-old now appears ‘likely’ to depart the Italian club to join the lengthy list of players who have defected to Saudi Arabia.

Santini believes a move to Juventus is improbable since the player has given the ‘thumbs up’ to a deal in Saudi Arabia. “At the end of the year, one thing is certain: Romelu will leave,” Santini told Roma supporters. The player made news recently after a heinous challenge on Christian Kouame versus Fiorentina. He will play against Sheriff in the Europa League but will be unavailable for Roma’s next Serie A match.

Jose Mourinho is presently in his third season as manager of Roma. The Portuguese tactician’s contract is coming to an end in 2024, and there hasn’t been any talk of an extension. The club, on the other hand, has already qualified for the RO16 of the Europa League and is looking to top their group with a win over Sheriff.

“Nobody thinks Slavia will lose tomorrow…but anything is possible,” he told the fans. He then compared the team’s transfer marketability to Manchester City‘s. He added that he is not “jealous,” but Roma cannot obtain Kalvin Philips for €80 million and then get someone else.

He then discussed the team’s intentions in the transfer market. He believes that Roma should sign a defender. Wanting additional players, on the other hand, is easier said than done. “It’s not possible,” Mourinho stated, referring to their inability to sign more players. He also stated that adding a defender to the UEFA team list would cause issues. Roma are presently fourth in Serie A, trailing only Milan, Juventus, and Inter.
