Rio Ferdinand chooses picks between Alisson Becker and Ederson Moraes
Alisson Becker of Liverpool is better than Man City’s No. 1 keeper Ederson Moraes, according to Rio Ferdinand on the FIVE YouTube channel.
In the goalkeeping position, the two Brazilians have been the Premier League’s two best players during the previous number of years. Both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola rely heavily on their goalkeepers, who are essential to the success of the teams they manage.
Rio Ferdinand, though, has explained why the “world-class” Alisson is a better player than Ederson. There is a lot of debate over who is the better player between the Reds’ starter and the £34.9 million (Bleacher Report) guy at Etihad Stadium.
In contrast, when asked on his YouTube channel which goalkeeper was better, Rio Ferdinand chose Alisson. “You may expect to rack up more points over the course of a season thanks to his efforts. That is the only justification. As far as I’m concerned, Ederson is the finest in the world with his feet. However, Alisson is a key contributor in the heat of the moment,” said Ferdinand.
In fact, Andy Robertson, Jurgen Klopp, and Jamie Carragher have all made similar points this season regarding the ex-Roma man’s outstanding shot-stopping abilities, which they believe save the Merseyside club.
According to Rio Ferdinand, although Ederson may be the finest ball-playing goalkeeper in the world and is certainly among the best overall, Alisson is in a league of his own when it comes to preventing strikes from finding the back of the net. The latter isn’t quite as excellent with the ball at his feet as the former, but he’s still among the finest there is, and he’s just as good, if not better, at clearing the danger away.
