Real Madrid Transfer News: Real Madrid, are willing to give £90 million to get Chelsea star
Real Madrid Transfer News: Football Insider claims that Real Madrid is very interested in signing Reece James. In the next summer transfer window, the La Liga champions are looking to acquire the services of the Chelsea wideout. They are willing to provide £90 million in compensation to get his services.
After becoming a regular starter for Chelsea in the 2019–20 season, Reece James has made tremendous strides as a player. The England international is just one of the numerous academy products who have broken the norm and emerged as key contributors to the Blues. And he is a top-tier fullback in the international game.
The 23-year-old has also made a name for himself in the England national team’s right-back competition. James, however, has suffered through a trying 2022–23 season owing to ongoing injury issues. This has allowed him to play for a little over 1,500 total minutes in games. That, however, has not prevented potential bidders like Real Madrid.
The current holders of the La Liga title have long been interested in signing the Chelsea winger. As James became a regular for the west London team, they have been keeping an eye on his development. With Dani Carvajal’s recent erratic play, Real Madrid’s persistent interest in the kid is logical.
The experienced Spaniard has had fitness concerns for a while now. Moreover, Real Madrid can no longer rely on Lucas Vazquez as a reliable backup right back. Real Madrid needs to get a world-class right back as Alvaro Odriozola isn’t in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans. James is now an attractive target.
Real Madrid Transfer News: Reports indicate that the La Liga winners, Real Madrid, are willing to give £90 million to get Chelsea the right-back Reece James this summer
But, it seems unlikely that the English international would be transferred over the summer since Chelsea is unlikely to trade him. Los Blancos, though, will put Chelsea to the test with a proposal of about £90 million. But, the west London club may not be tempted by such a large fee.
To avoid Financial Fair Play Penalties, the Blues will need to sell several players. Even for £90 million, it seems doubtful that Chelsea will sell James, one of their best players. It has also been said that the 23-year-old has no desire to leave Chelsea. And although he would love to play for Real Madrid, it is still a ways off.
