Nicolas Pépé makes a move to Turkish club following Arsenal exit
Arsenal player Nicolas Pépé has joined the Turkish league via this summer’s transfer window. The negotiations with respect to the player’s move were taking place over the past few days. The player who had joined Arsenal back in 2019 is now all set to part ways with the club so as to join Trabzonspor. The player’s move to his new club in Turkey has almost been completed as per the confirmations of several sources.
Nicolas Pépé joins Trabzonspor on a permanent deal
Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Nicolas Pépé’s move to Trabzonspor has almost been completed. The player shall be joining the Turkish club on a short term deal until June 2024. Medical tests are scheduled to be held on Friday.
Nicolas Pépé who was born in 1995 began his senior career with French club Poitiers in the 2012/13 season at the age of 17. He made a move to Angers the following season. It was in 2017 that he joined Lille in the Ligue 1. The winger got to play 80 matches for the club in two years during which he scored 37 goals. He thereon joined Arsenal in the summer of 2019. He stayed at the English club until 2021 during which he made 112 appearances for the team. He spent his last season at Lens on loan wherein he scored 8 goals in 28 matches.

Trabzonspor has been in rather average form lately. The team finished sixth in the league last season with 57 points in 36 matches throughout the season. The team thus missed out on a place in any of the European competitions for the upcoming season.
The team’s next major motto will be to perform better in the ongoing league season and grab a spot in the European competitions in the upcoming times. The onus will be on the team’s new signings including Nicolas Pépé to help the side achieve its objectives hereon.
