Nico González signs new deal with Fiorentina

Argentinian international Nico González has signed a new deal with his club Fiorentina recently. The negotiations with respect to the player’s new deal being signed were taking place over the past few days. The player who had joined Fiorentina around a couple of years ago is now all set to lengthen his stay at the club. The player’s new deal has been almost completed as per the confirmations of several sources.

Nico González to extend his stay at Fiorentina

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Nico González’s new deal with Fiorentina has nearly been sealed. The player has agreed to a new long term deal with the club and the contract extension is all set to be signed. Fiorentina has initially rejected a formal bid in excess of €40m from Brentford for Nico this summer.

Nico González who was born in 1998 began his senior career with Argentinos Juniors in 2016 at the age of 18. A couple years later he made a move to Stuttgart. After having scored 23 goals in 79 games for the club in three years, he joined Fiorentina in 2021. He has played a total of 86 games for the club across all competitions so far scoring 26 goals.

Nico made his senior debut for Argentina in 2019. The winger has so far played 25 matches for his country at the senior level, scoring 5 goals.

Fiorentina have been in fairly good form lately. The team finished eighth in the league last season. Thanks to Juventus’ being banished from participating in the Conference league 2023/24 season, Fiorentina will now be able to participate in the competition this season. The team next major motto will be to perform better in the ongoing league season and achieve significant results in Europe too. The onus will be on the team’s current players including Nico González to help the side achieve its objectives hereon.
