Neymar joins Saudi club following PSG exit

PSG player, Neymar has made a move to Saudi Pro League club following his departure from PSG via this season’s transfer window. The negotiations regarding the player’s transfer were taking place over the past few days. Despite the player being heavily linked to other clubs recently, the final destination for the no.10 is all set to be Saudi club, Al Hilal. Following this transfer, Saudi Arabia continues to amaze the footballing world with its incredibly good pull which has seen them draw the attention of several renowned players from Europe this season.

Neymar joins Al Hilal on permanent deal

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Neymar’s move to Al Hilal has been completed. After a huge bid that had been revealed a couple days ago, the documents are being approved by all the parties involved. Neymar shall be traveling to Saudi Arabia this week wherein he shall be signing a two year contract with his new club. PSG shall be receiving close to £100m for the player’s transfer. Medicals shall supposedly be completed today.

Neymar who was born in 1992 began his senior career with Brazilian club Santos in the year 2009 aged 17. He played 138 games for the club scoring 71 goals and assisting another 37. He made a move to Barcelona in 2013 ending a five year stay at Santos. He won the UCL in 2015 with Barcelona.

During his four year stay at Barcelona, he scored 105 goals and provided 76 assists in 186 games. He thereon joined Ligue 1 club, PSG in 2017/18 season. He made 173 appearances for the club during his six year stay there, scoring 118 goals and providing 77 assists.

Al hilal have been in fairly good form lately. The team finished third in the league last season. With 59 points in 30 matches, the team failed to finish top two which means they shall not be a part of the AFC champions league next season.

The side also reached the final of the Arab Champions Cup final lately before missing out on the trophy following a loss to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in the final. The team’s major motto will be to lift the league title and achieve better results in other club competitions as well hereon. The onus will be on their star players including, Neymar to help the side achieve its objectives in the upcoming times.
