Newcastle United, Arsenal and Manchester United want the £40 million rated forward

The Athletic reports that many top clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, are keeping an eye on Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus this spring and summer.

Since joining Ajax from Danish club Nordsjaelland for about £7.8 million in 2020, Kudus has emerged as a key member of the team. He has started 83 games for the Dutch powerhouses, scoring 23 goals and dishing out 10 assists to help them win three trophies, including two Eredivisie championships.

Having Kudus under contract through the conclusion of the 2024-25 season removes any selling pressure from Ajax. After three years in the Netherlands, the striker has decided to move on to greater challenges.

The aforementioned source claims that Kudus has told the Eredivisie team of his desire to depart over the next summer. When a player is entering the last two years of his contract, Ajax would prefer to sell than keep him.

As a result, the Ghana international may be leaving Amsterdam this summer. According to the publication, the price tag for Kudus will be somewhere around £40 million.

When he departs the Johan Cruyff Arena, the 22-year-old will have plenty of opportunities to choose from. If the rumour mill is to be believed, he has drawn attention from many teams, including Arsenal and Manchester United.

Newcastle United, like Arsenal and Manchester United, is keeping tabs on Kudus’s status at Ajax. It has been argued, however, that other players may rank higher on the wishlists of the aforementioned teams.

Kudus came so close to signing for Everton last summer. A loan agreement with an option to purchase for the attacker almost went through until Ajax intervened.

With Ajax, Mohammed Kudus has made 41 total appearances, 18 goals, and 6 assists. On Sunday (May 21), he started in the team’s 3-1 Eredivisie victory against Utrecht.

The Ghanaian showed well for Amsterdam, despite not being directly involved in any of the goals. The attacker had the most shots on goal (3) but also wasted two golden opportunities.

Arsenal and Manchester United targets tried the most dribbles (10) and completed nine. Kudus was effective with 35 of 40 passes, including 2 long balls, throughout his game.

Kudus also showed off his defensive skills, winning 15 duels despite giving up the ball 16 times.
