Maurits Kjaergaard Transfer News: Manchester United are the favourites to sign him
Maurits Kjaergaard Transfer News: According to Fabrizio Romano’s exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside, many teams are keeping tabs on Red Bull Salzburg sensation Maurits Kjaergaard, including Manchester United.
Not much has progressed in terms of a move, but it seems that Kjaergaard is drawing a lot of attention. According to Romano, the Red Devils prefer to keep an eye on a lot of the best young players throughout the globe.
According to Romano, the 19-year-old is now being monitored by not just Manchester United but also five or six other teams as he establishes himself as one of Europe’s top prospects.
It will be intriguing to watch whether United increase their interest in the Denmark Under-21 international at any time in the near future, since it is easy to envisage him making a transfer to a larger club shortly.
Maurits Kjaergaard Transfer News: What is in store in his future?
“Maurits Kjaergaard of Red Bull Salzburg is an emerging talent catching the eye, but he is really just one of many, many players scouted by Manchester United,” Romano said.
“Top clubs always scout the best young talents, and he’s certainly one of them. But it’s not just Manchester United watching his progress, there are five or six top clubs following him,” he added.
There seems to be no shortage of interest in Kjaergaard should he decide to go. The Denmark U21 international has started 32 matches this season, mostly as a defensive midfielder but sometimes occasionally as an offensive midfielder, and has contributed to two goals and nine assists.
Denmark U21 won their European qualifying encounter against Croatia U21 in September, and TV2 Sport in Denmark stated that scouts from Manchester United were there to observe the match.
The Austrian champions are well-known for their policy of often trading off key players in order to increase revenue. Already having completed two trades, they want to bring in even more cash by selling off a few more players this summer.
